Welcome to The Study Plug. This site exists because I got frustrated seeing the same vague "survey site" lists recycled over and over โ none of them based on actual experience.
Every recommendation, rating, and review on this site comes from platforms I've personally joined, used, and evaluated. I share what I like, what I don't like, and exactly what you can expect โ the good and the frustrating.
The Study Plug
Making Money Online With Opinions
I started participating in consumer market research studies out of curiosity. I'd always seen survey sites advertised but found the returns frustrating โ hours of effort for pennies.
Then I discovered legitimate research panels. My first study was a 60-minute video interview and the payment was genuinely surprising. Not life-changing, but a meaningful amount for an hour of honest conversation.
Over time, I built up profiles on multiple platforms, learned which ones sent the most relevant invitations, and understood how to write profiles that led to more qualifications. I started sharing what I learned.
The Study Plug is the resource I wish had existed when I started โ a clear, honest guide built on real experience rather than recycled affiliate lists.
These are the standards I hold myself to on every piece of content published here.
I only recommend platforms I have personally joined and used. No platform has ever paid for placement on this site.
My ratings reflect my real experience. If a platform has significant flaws, I say so. A high affiliate commission never influences my rating.
Every page with affiliate links includes a disclosure. I also share income reports when appropriate to give real context for earnings.
This site is designed to educate first. The goal is for you to understand market research fully before making any decisions about platforms to join.
I never make exaggerated income claims. Opportunities, earnings, and qualifications vary significantly by individual โ I always remind you of this.
Platform quality changes over time. I revisit and update my reviews when I notice changes in a platform's invitation frequency, pay rates, or reliability.
The Study Plug uses affiliate marketing to generate revenue. When you sign up for a platform through one of my links, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
This is how I'm able to spend time writing detailed reviews, testing platforms, and maintaining this resource. However, it's important you understand how this works:
Consumer market research is supplemental income, not a career replacement. Anyone promising otherwise is misleading you.
Opportunities vary widely by demographics, location, and timing. What I earn is not what you'll necessarily earn.
Market research participation should be treated as supplemental. The number of studies available varies month to month.
Built by someone with real experience who wants you to make informed decisions about legitimate opportunities.
